My photography is rooted in counter-storytelling as an effort to challenge and expand the narratives that often define Mozambique from the outside. From markets, landscapes, to everyday people or my relatives, I attempt to document glimpses of my “normal” growing up. So while the images may sometimes include pictures of places viewers might have seen before, I hope to invoke different feelings and perspectives. This page in particular is an exploration of Mozambican identity.
